Fatḥ Allāh al-Mawṣilī Nazīl Dāranda Sīrat ʿĀlim ʿUṯmānī min Khilāl Makhtūṭātih

This book presents a documented historical study of Shaykh Fatḥ Allāh al-Mawṣilī (d. 1162/1749), one of the leading scholars of Mosul in the twelfth century AH. The study is based primarily on his manuscript legacy, which has only recently been identified, together with the available historical sources. The book offers a detailed analysis of his scholarly and literary output, his juridical and intellectual positions, and his religious interests, situating them within their broader chronological and geographical contexts.
This work forms part of the broader field of Ottoman intellectual history. Moving beyond the confines of an individual biography, it explores patterns of scholarly life, the production of knowledge, and the continuity of intellectual traditions in the eastern provinces of the Ottoman Empire.
